Description
This is an AL811 AL811H power supply rebuild kit. I designed the AL811 in 1991 to replace the Ameritron AL84 when the 6MJ6 sweep tubes went obsolete. The AL811 series is a replacement for sweep tube amplifiers. The optimum filter capacitor size was 120-180 uF. MFJ stepped the filter capacitors up in capacitance, which did nothing good for performance while increasing the surge currents if a tube shorts. Unless you use ESSB with low audio frequencies 150 uF is more than enough capacitance. Note this kit has long life solder-in capacitors, not screw in types. These capacitors fit perfectly but you must solder them in. This kit requires soldering skills. Please see our other kits.
