RARE Antique Julien Viard — Harriet Hubbard Ayer — Miniature Perfume Bottle c.1920 This one really sent me down a rabbit hole! Imagine having nothing to go on except a dark, tattered, faded label — and a monogrammed cap I wished I'd noticed sooner. I managed to blow the label up enough in Photoshop to get a word that had to be "Harriet" (you can almost see that too in the last couple of photos) and just went from there. It was fun, if ridiculously time consuming. Although the bottle is not signed, I believe it to be by Julien Viard. The bottom is marked "Made in France", the quality of the glass is amazing for such a tiny bottle, and Julien Viard did design other bottles for this company. Two online sources listed it as being Baccarat, with no source, so there's that. Either way, it's a good one. 1 3/8" x 2 1/16" tall. The cap is monogrammed on the top. The tiny stopper is currently stuck in the bottle. I'm sure you can release it, but I didn't want to mess with it. The glass is perfect. I can't find another example online that has a label, asod I don't know the name of the perfume. It may be "Mes Fleurs", made in 1922. That tracks with the tiny flowers on the bottle but who knows. If you know or can manage to read more of the label, please let me know, I'd love to know more about this unusual find. Ooh La La!
