Description

This is an estate find: a rare antique bottle of Tosca cologne. Tosca was introduced in 1921, and this bottle has what may be the original label. This bottle is rectangular in shape with ribs in the glass, and it measures 7" high in total. The bottom is marked '250 cm3' as shown. The front has a raised design of a bow where the paper label is attached. The label is 1.75" wide with dark gold background and a bright teal shield with the name Tosca in the center. The label is very elaborate and detailed. The top has a wide neck closure with a screw-off cap that has a domed top painted red; it was originally sealed on with a cord and blob of sealing wax impressed with a crest, which still remains. A few drops of the cologne remain. Please see the photos for all the great details. This does show some wear: the red top has lost some of its finish, but the important label is still in excellent condition. I could only find one other example of this - great for your collection!
